Terik Parascak lighting up the WHL while Hockey Canada leaves the Washington Capitals prospect off its World Juniors camp list.

When the latest World Juniors training camp roster hit the internet, Caps fans immediately went looking for Terik Parascak's name. It was not there, despite the winger torching the WHL again for Prince George.
Through 26 games this season, Parascak has 19 goals and 39 points, riding first line minutes and heavy power play usage.
That follows a 105 point rookie year and an 82 point follow up, monster production for a 19 year old.
This is not some fringe NHL hopeful either. Washington drafted Parascak 17th overall in 2024, signed him quickly, and already gave him a cup of coffee in Hershey.
His calling card is timing, slipping into soft ice for quick catch and release chances instead of lugging the puck forever.
He was on Hockey Canada's radar too. Parascak skated at the 2025 World Junior Summer Showcase in Minneapolis, part of a 44 player evaluation group that was supposed to feed directly into this year's team.
Analysts at Daily Faceoff and The Hockey News have been mentioning him for months as a real candidate for the 2026 roster.

Terik Parascak snub sparks Hockey Canada debate

Hockey Canada has tightened its entire process after back to back quarterfinal exits, trimming the camp group and locking in a longer, more structured 10 day look in Niagara Falls.
That makes every invite precious, but it also makes leaving out an elite shooter an even bolder call.
If you watch Parascak closely, he is not just cherry picking. He wins pucks on the forecheck, pops into the slot late, and can finish from distance, exactly the profile that often swings tight World Junior games.
For Washington, the only silver lining is selfish. No tournament means no extra mileage and Parascak stays the focal point in Prince George, which is never bad for a scorer's confidence.
