Tom Wilson stuns Carolina Hurricanes fans with his antics

During Game 1 of the Capitals' second-round matchup with the Hurricanes, Tom Wilson briefly got his hands on a truly priceless keepsake.
The Washington Capitals dropped their second-round opener to the Carolina Hurricanes in a 2-1 overtime loss on home ice.
In the final minutes of the third period, Wilson stirred things up by snatching the mouthguard dangling from Sebastian Aho's mouth after a whistle.
Ian Oland from RMNB writes that Wilson's sneaky tactics, tugging on Aho's jersey and eventually swiping his mouthguard, were classic agitator moves. With the game tied and just 6:38 left in regulation, the Capitals enforcer was clearly trying to provoke Aho into a retaliatory penalty.

Wilson held onto the mouthguard for a short while before being compelled to return it after Aho voiced his frustration. Linesman Trent Knorr escorted Wilson, like a misbehaving eight-year-old caught in the act, to the referee, where the mouthguard was finally handed back.
"Wilson's mouthguard-stealing comes after he was his Most Pest-y Self in the first round against the Montreal Canadiens. Wilson got in a bench brawl with Josh Anderson, did a viral crybaby taunt at the Habs, and had a series-altering hit on Alexandre Carrier." -Oland
No penalites were assessed to either players after the play.
"Wilson and Aho previously had a run-in during an April 2 game in Raleigh. After Aho slashed Wilson near the benches, the game devolved into chaos during the third period, with the two teams combining for 120 penalty minutes and eight misconducts." -Oland
Game 2 goes Thursday at 7:00pm from Capital One Arena.
