Tom Wilson sounds off on Washington Capitals next challenge against Carolina Hurricanes
The Washington Capitals are gearing up for a fiery second-round playoff clash against the Carolina Hurricanes as they continue their push toward another Stanley Cup. Ahead of the series, forward Tom Wilson spoke with the media about the tough battle that lies ahead.
Both clubs dominated the Metropolitan Division throughout the regular season, and a heated rivalry has steadily built between them over the course of 82 games.
One player who's come to recognize the challenge the Hurricanes bring is Tom Wilson, who offered his thoughts on what's next in a recent interview.

The last time these two powerhouse teams clashed was before the COVID-19 pandemic, when the Carolina Hurricanes dashed the Capitals hopes of another championship with a first-round upset.
Now, forward Tom Wilson is eager for a shot at redemption.
«It'll be nice to get another crack at them from a few years back,» Wilson said, via NHL.com's Tom Gulitti. «They compete very hard. You know what you're going to get from them. You're going to get their all - all their work ethic. We're going to have to dictate play and worry about our game and make sure we're really focused and dialed in, because there's not going to be a lot of time and space out there.»

«We're obviously very familiar with them,» Wilson said, via Gulitti. «Everyone is familiar with everyone these days. It seems like there's so much video and so much scouting that goes into it all. It's a rival. It's a divisional opponent. They've been a measuring stick in this division for a long time. Obviously, the Caps franchise has been the same. You're going to have two fast, big teams in the East going at it. I think it's going to be high paced, physical, detailed hockey.»
The Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes series will debut on Tuesday, May 6th.
