Ivan Miroshnichenko is finally back, and the Hershey Bears suddenly look a lot more dangerous heading into Thursday against the Cleveland Monsters.

Hershey expects its leading goal scorer from last season to be available in Cleveland, pending final clearance from trainers. After an upper body injury sidelined him for a month, that possible green light changes the feel of this trip.
In practice Tuesday, he skated on a line with Ilya Protas and Bogdan Trineyev, the Bears hottest duo to start the year. Protas sits at ten points and Trineyev at nine, and adding Miroshnichenko shot to that mix screams puck possession and pressure.
The Bears have quietly strung together four straight wins while leaning into longer, sharper practices at Giant Center. Tuesday session reportedly ran close to ninety minutes, full of game situations that should feed a more confident rush game in Cleveland.

Ivan Miroshnichenko boosts Hershey Bears scoring upside

If you are a Hershey or Washington fan tracking prospects, this is the kind of lineup news that lights up every group chat.
The timing fits the story of his rise, because last season Miroshnichenko popped for twenty three goals and forty two points in fifty three games. He even recorded two hat tricks and looked increasingly comfortable driving his own line rather than just finishing plays.
Washington gave him a taste of the NHL with four points in eighteen games, then rewarded that trajectory with a two year, one way extension. That contract security matters now, because an upper body injury from an awkward practice collision on October twelfth already cost him twelve Hershey games.
He first stepped back on the ice at morning skate in Syracuse last Friday, then progressed to a full contact practice this week in Hershey. That steady ramp, not a rushed return, should have him closer to game pace when the puck drops against the Monsters.
On the ice, watch how that Protas line handles defensive zone exits and regroups against a Cleveland team that loves to counter. If Todd Nelson leans on them for offensive zone starts and power play looks, their puck protection could tilt a few key shifts Hershey way.
Big picture, Hershey sits at nine four and one with nineteen points, locked into the Atlantic Division logjam but feeling good about its trendline. If Miroshnichenko can jump back in and look like himself by Saturday, the defending champs may have found another early gear.
Either way, when Hershey hits home ice again against the Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins next Wednesday, plenty of eyes will be on number ten.
