Montreal Canadiens goaltender Sam Montembeault leaves the net, potentially injured

The Washington Capitals are currently facing off against the Montreal Canadiens, but an incident involving Habs goaltender Sam Montembeault has sparked concern among fans.
Sam Montembeault has left the game for the Habs. Not clear why yet, have to wait for update but they showed a clip of him grabbing his hamstring on a recent save. Something to monitor #GoHabsGo
Although it's not entirely clear what happened to Sam Montembeault, backup goaltender Jakub Dobes has stepped in in relief.
Jakub Dobes is now in net for Montreal. Thompson has taken a couple hits to the head and looks a little shaky, but it's Sam Montembeault who leaves the ice
Sam Montembeault has been a rock between the pipes for the Montreal Canadiens all season.
Following an impressive regular campaign, Montembeault earned consideration to join Team Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off Tournament, continuing his stellar performance into the postseason.
Montembeault signed a three-year, $9.45 million contract ($3.15 million average annual value) with the Montreal Canadiens on Dec. 1, 2023, beginning with the 2023-24 season. He was claimed off waivers from the Panthers on Oct. 2, 2021. He set an NHL record for saves in a season-opening shutout with 48 in a 1-0 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Bell Centre on Oct. 9, 2024.
If Montembeault stays out for the rest of the game, it will be a huge loss for the Habs, to say the least.
According to Habs Fanatics, It's unfortunate, because Montembeault was once again having an outstanding game. He's probably been the Montreal Canadiens' best player since the start of the playoffs. Montembeault started feeling discomfort after the Caps' second goal, and unfortunately, we know the rest.
