Logan Thompson finally has a goal song for the Washington Capitals, and Olivia Dean just joined the Capital One Arena soundtrack.

RMNB noticed the update on the Capital One Arena scoreboard during warmups Wednesday, Logan Thompson's goal song is Olivia Dean's «Man I Need.»
It's a soft, modern pop track, more groove than scream, which is not how most goal songs go. That contrast is the point, it sounds like a goalie choosing a vibe, not a victory lap.
Washington let players pick individual goal songs starting in 2019-20, and it's become a quirky little tell about each guy. Thompson was one of the few without a listed pick, mostly because goalies rarely score.
Still, the building treats it like everyone's welcome to play, because the horn is part of the show. And with Thompson now Washington's clear number one, he's basically earned his own soundtrack.
Charlie Lindgren has long rolled with Toby Keith's «Should've Been a Cowboy,» and you can hear the crowd perk up when it pops. Katie Adler even caught that vibe in a post last season.
Thompson sits at .915 and 2.33, and MoneyPuck had him at 22.9 goals saved above expected, driven by quick reads and tidy rebounds.

Logan Thompson makes his goal song official.

Honestly, Caps fans will love this, it's wholesome and a little strange in the best way.
Thompson is a 28-year-old Calgary native who went undrafted, then clawed up from the minors to Vegas. NHL.com says Washington rewarded him with a six-year, $35.1 million contract, a big bet on his late-blooming path.
Only 17 NHL goaltenders have ever scored, and no Capitals goalie has joined that club yet. If Thompson flips one into an empty net, «Man I Need» will land as the punchline to this bit.
For now, it's just a small piece of arena flavor that makes the season feel more personal.
Keep the saves coming, and someday he'll get to hear his own song after a goalie goal, not just during warmups.
