Former Washington Capitals goaltender now highest paid goalie in KHL

Former Washington Capitals goaltender Zach Fucale is making headlines today as he recently moved to Dynamo Minsk in the KHL, making him the highest paid goaltender in the league.
Drafted in the second round by the Montreal Canadiens back in 2013, Zach Fucale always struggled to find his footing in North America, but has been lights out in the KHL.
Fucale, 30, spent two years with the Traktor, a Belarusian club, find has signed a new deal with Dynamo Minsk and is cashing in, big-time.

Dinamo Minsk has signed Canadian goaltender Zach Fucale.
According to Gold Star Hockey, the agreement is for two years.
The goalie's salary, according to media reports, could reach $1 million per season.
Fukale spent the previous two years at Traktor Chelyabinsk, where he played 127 games, earned 72 wins and demonstrated a 92.5% save percentage and a 2.25 reliability rating.
Last season, Traktor reached the final of the Gagarin Cup, losing to Lokomotiv in a five-game series
While there have been rumblings of a potential NHL comeback, Zach Fucale will be staying in Russia for the next two seasons.
Before his KHL tenure, Fucale achieved notable success in the AHL, most prominently with the Hershey Bears. Playing as the team's backup goaltender behind Hunter Shepard, he helped the Bears lift the Calder Cup in 2023 - the franchise's twelfth victory in the league. He only played two uncomplete games, yet he was always ready and showed his worth when he was called up.
