Bogdan Trineyev makes his Washington Capitals debut in Winnipeg, with Logan Thompson starting and Sonny Milano scratched.

Washington heads into Saturday at 18-9-4, trying to bank road points against a Jets team sitting 14-15-1. NHL.com lineup projections have Trineyev slotted on the fourth line, and Milano coming out.
Trineyev, 23, was drafted by Washington in 2020, a fourth-round pick at 117th overall.
He has 12 points, six goals and six assists, in 16 games with the Hershey Bears, and he plays a direct, two-way style.
Spencer Carbery's advice was, just be yourself, and don't force the pretty play. On this roster, that means hard forecheck routes and a clean first touch on every exit.

Bogdan Trineyev arrives for Capitals debut

Caps fans can spot a hard-earned debut, and this one has felt overdue since his first call-up. If he brings his Hershey edge, Washington's fourth line gets heavier immediately.
On a line with Brandon Duhaime and Hendrix Lapierre, Trineyev should pressure puck carriers and make Winnipeg's breakouts uncomfortable. The best debut script is boring hockey, win walls, stay above pucks, and live for the next shift.
Logan Thompson gets the start, and his 2025-26 line is loud, 13 wins in 21 games, a 1.96 goals-against average, and a .925 save percentage.
The 28-year-old just posted a 39-save shutout against Columbus on Sunday, the kind of calm that travels well.
Milano has six points in limited minutes this season, but the staff seems to want more pace and puck pressure in that role. Sitting a veteran is never fun, yet it can spark a sharper edge across the bottom six.
If Trineyev keeps it simple and finishes his routes, Saturday in Winnipeg can be the start of something that sticks.
