The Washington Capitals have re-signed center center Nic Dowd to a two-year contract extension worth $6 million, the team announced today. The deal, confirmed by senior vice president and general manager Chris Patrick, carries an average annual value of $3 million.
Nic Dowd, 34, has been a steady contributor in the Capitals' bottom six throughout the season. The veteran forward is enjoying a career year, setting a new personal best with 14 goals and 27 points over 81 regular season games.
