Tom Wilson keeps dragging the Washington Capitals forward as his power play heater torches the Los Angeles Kings again.

The 31 year old right wing opened the scoring in Los Angeles with his team leading 16th goal of the season, a greasy net front tap on the power play that gave Washington a 1 0 lead.
The tally pushed his personal streak to six straight games with a point, good for five goals and five assists in that span according to Capitals PR.
It is not just a short heater either, since Wilson now has 13 points in his last nine games, stretching back to the first meeting with the Kings on Monday in Washington.
He already set a career high with 33 goals and 65 points last season, a reminder of how far the 2012 first rounder, 16th overall, has come since his crash and bang rookie years.
On this night the goal was also a tidy snapshot of Spencer Carbery's revamped power play. Washington, stuck near the bottom of the league earlier in the year, has climbed into the low twenties after retooling its units with more motion, quick bump plays and a heavier net front presence from Wilson.

The goal also mattered for the bigger picture, as the Capitals stretched their winning streak to five games and grabbed their eighth victory in nine outings with a 3 1 decision over Los Angeles.
Logan Thompson turned aside 24 shots, while Alex Ovechkin quietly stacked two more assists and hit the 800 road point milestone.
Los Angeles came in on a five game point streak, but Washington's forecheck and that early power play marker tilted the ice. It completed a tidy season sweep after the Capitals edged the Kings 2 1 in Washington back on Monday.
Now the trip rolls on to San Jose on Wednesday and Anaheim on Friday, with a suddenly confident power play in tow.
